Its all gotta be dexos1 quality to be approved. I figure WalMart requests particular specs from their providers.

Doesn't matter to me. I get the oil for my 2015 2500 6.0 from Schaeffer, who I get my oils and such for my commercial stuff. I get the commercial account pricing and it is brought to my place for free along with my commercial oil orders. Not dexos approved, but more than adequate. I just never even bothered to see what official dexos oils are priced at the stores. No real reason to waste my time driving to a retail store to get it. I just never got all caught up in the dexos approval game.


You can get ANY oil shipped to your door, it is not like Schaeffer oil has that market cornered. I can go on to Amazon and order oil, Amsoil will ship as well. Schaeffer Supreme 9000 is dexos1 compliant(according to their website), they are just not dexos1 licensed.

Just out of curiosity, what is Schaeffer commercial pricing per quart?

For toaster and TV's, they can request or get a dumbed down version. Things like oil, they really cannot if they choose to meet the spec's the bottle label claims like API or DEXOS. To much liability to cut corners there.

Cost saving are from getting good oils from blenders like WPP that do not have high advertising or overhead costs like the other name brands and can deliver a good product at a good price.
