Since Supertech (or any other oil on GM's list) meets dexos 1 and GF5 specs it should at minimumnfit the following well. In each of the measures the oil should meet the greater of the green or red specification. No different than any other dexos rated/gf5 rated oil. In every area equal or higher performance than the gf4 oils being used just a few years back.

With that said, I don't use Supertech myself, but see no reason anyone should worry if they do.

Its does not surprise me that its approved but its good to know.

House brands are nothing less in quality then oils made by the same oil companies that you purchase the name brands from.

The only difference from the name brand oil is fancy marketing to make you want to pay more for the same oil.

Bottom line, most oil cost the same to produce give or take a few cents and most additive packs are made from a small handful of companies.

Seeing the Valvoline NextGen 5W20 on it, I'm inclined to agree!

So I have to ask. What would you consider better than horse vommit oil? And why is Dexos 1 the lowest if it exceeds GF-5 in many areas. Just trying to learn.

Give it up, he does not know and is the typical lizard brain response many here post based on feelings and anecdotal evidence.
