Yes, you are in the right crowd here...

We have a brand new Walmart, the SuperTech section is equivalent to the Fram and MotorCraft sized area.

These probably go back to late 2000. I started changing my own in 1999; Wally's still had STP then. They had a dry spell of 6 months when I used NAPA silver, then came out the the blue STs.

A 10 year supply of SuperTechs

?

I doubt that you are saving much money by buying 'em up so far in advance. Ten years from now the rubber ADBV is likely going to be hard, the internal glue may have deteriorated, the internals will probably be rusty and the paper will probably have deteriorated as well.

You might want to call Champion Labs and find out what their specified shelf life is for full performance.

No way would I put a 10 year old filter on a car. Entropy is real!

There was a guy who, when he heard Model T Fords were being discontinued, bought enough to last until the 1950's....

I wish our Walmarts in Canada sold these filters.

Just like the other user reccomended, COMPLAIN.

Wal-mart didn't get to where it is now by ignoring the consumer. Complain the to manager, and by getting hassled a lot, they will request that product from central purchasing.

Quick and painless, what have you got to lose.

Walmart Canada won't be able to get those filters most likely though, because it's not made in Canada. They have to have a certain amount of content in their store of made in Canada products, and they've already got the full line of Fram filters which are made up here, so they wouldn't make room for the Supertechs I'm sure.

I usually hit the Walmart every 2 weeks.Every time I go,I buy 2 Super Tech filters, whether I need them or not,and currently I have 16 of them, since all my vehicles take the same filter.(Super Tech8A) I've been using them for 2 years now,and no problems with them.Good filter.

I need to cut up a 12 year old Fram that I've had stashed in my garage. Once I can get the digital camera back in my hands, I'll have some pix. At least you'll get some idea of what they look like years down the road.

Ok, I cut up another used ST3980, this makes 3 now.
first 55 pleats 206 sq in (evenly spaced)
sec 60 pleats 225 sq in (evenly spaced)
third 56 pleats 210 sq in (unevenly spaced)

looks like a little mfg variation so far...but still looked well made.
