SuperTech HM 5w30 vs Kirkland 5w30

Can anyone point me to the used oil analysis, or other quantifiable data, where it looks like Kirkland or SuperTech are proving to be insufficient?

In my experience it’s been engine cleanliness/piston deposits in severe service or problem engines(which is a small overall percentage). This is far from only Supertech so I’m not picking on this brand in particular. Seems to be oils that don’t far exceed minimum cleanliness standards. You will not find any wear difference between brands on a used oil analysis and a used oil analysis doesn’t show engine deposits.

Insufficient is dubious. It could mean a lot of things and isn’t a good measuring stick. Minimum wage could be considered “sufficient.” Doesn’t mean it’s appropriate or ideal.

Pretty old PQIA presentation in the OP. Their last published test being March of 2023.

Even if you don't like my word choices, I think you could figure out the intention.

For those of us wanting a high quality budget priced high mileage full synthetic oil, would you know if
Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30 is also re-refined (recycled) "used in someone else's engine and drained out after an oil change", or is the Quaker State "new" oil?

Most likely you don't know unless the manufacturer wants you to know. That is one thing about Highline Warren, they have been pretty good at giving information about their oils.

Your camshafts may not wear down, but your ego will, if your neighbors observe you instilling WalMart lubricants into your Lexus. 😉
LOL. Personally, I prefer Toyotas to Lexus's, as most Lexus's require premium fuel, which can really add up if you drive the car 20,000 miles a year over several years, as many who have long daily commutes drive that many miles.

I’ve never researched Quaker State High Mileage Full Synthetic honestly.

Our '06 Acura TSX, 240K, has had a steady diet of Mobil 1 5w30 at 4200 to 4500 OCIs. The internals are spotless, clean, you name it. It does not burn a drop between services. I would drive it anywhere right now. I even put a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S rubber on...

Would Kirkland 5w30 done the same? I'll never know. But I can tell you I service 2 2007 TSXs with far less mileage and neither K24 is in the same condition. By a long shot. I think they were dealer maintained...

My friends TSX 3.5 is heavily varnished on dealer bulk. My daughter’s RDX looks like this on ESP 0W-30 at 137k.
