Hopefully this is the right place for this UOA.

Western Auto Wizard 18 hp Twin cyl. Tractor is pretty old and it was bought used.

This oil has 1 summer on it, about 11 hours.

I was not able to keep it running long enough to warm the oil due to a dead battery.

I have changed fuel filter, air filter, and plugs.

Oil Report

Blackstone comments: "We love analyzing lawn mower samples! This is the first sample we have seen from the 18hp B&S engine, so we created a new average file and based the wear on the 16 HP engine. Aluminum and Iron were high, though they may be from normal accumulation, if this oil was in use a long time. Insolubles were high at 0.6%. We found moisture and fuel in the oil, which are probably from taking the cold sample. Check back to monitor the Wizard and establish wear trends. A little TLC will probably set this tractor straight."

The ST oil looks VERY weak as far as additives goes. I wouldn't use any ST oil.....especially when you can find the better oils for the same price and sometimes cheaper.
That's a lot of wear, but we don't have a database here, so who knows?!

Look at all that moly!

Seems like the high fuel amount is the culprit for the excessive wear. The ST oil looks just fine IMO.

I've never thought of analyzing my lawnmower. Maybe I should just for kicks, I have some Castrol HD 40 with AutoRx in there now.

Interesting analysis. Seems like a lot of iron, but who knows?

Do you have any idea how long the oil went on the previous change? Was the drain oil gray or glittery when you put the Supertech in?

The previous oil had been in for a long time. It was very black. I don't remember if it was glittery or not. Definately not grey.

This tractor was generally neglected: clogged air filter, fouled plugs, and original fuel filter were replaced after this sample. Blades were dull as bowling balls, too.

But I have a small yard and it seems to do ok now.
