Redemption is grand!!! People have been gveing me sttic about useing Mobil 1 ATF in Toyota's that require WS and T-IV. Never mind no ne ha has done so has had any issues. So today I am at Walmart buying a Battery for my ca as the OEM is still workig but getting a bit weak. What Do I see Walmarthas it's own Dex-VI so I had to read the back. It says right on the back of the bottle that it is suitable for application cling for WS and T-IV. It also has some othes listed. I also sttd in one thread that I tought that Dex-VI would also be a suitabe sub for all Toyota's callingfo WS adn T-IV and here finaly is concrete proof notjus my opinion backed up by a handful of people that have tid tand had no ill effects! It of cours will also work in applicatostha previously called for Dex II o III so that effectively takes care of 99% of Toyota's and Lexus and all GM applicationsin one fell swoop. The best prt is that it is $2.97 wich is great for a GIII or bette ATF.

If the manufacture of the prodct claims it is fit fr use in vechiles calling for a specific fluid that is for all practical purpose's as good as it get's! Yu do not get anything more substantial fromt he OEM hen they recomend a given product for an application they have asembled. THis is especial true whenyou look at all the outsourceing o tasmissions and the sometimes different fuds recomended fo identical transmissionsn different makes and models! In fact that is actualy more concretethn when your Doctor script since scripts treat syptoms and not the underlyin cause of the disease. Then you have all the off lable use of prescritpion drugs as well. SO yes my example is higher up the totetum pole hn ay other much more serious endevers.

Never mind that people haveaready proven that these products work in said applicaton with field testing wich is also a solid and accepted form of testing.

You just do not like that I am write and loveing it! Since so many people have their collective heads stuck where the sun does not shine about ueing only the specialy fluid that can only be had at the OEM level blah blah blah!!!!! I undeta that their are eamples where you mus use a specialty flui tha is unique but more and more we are seeing that more oftethen not that is no the case. We hve seen this with WolfHead Synthetic ATF,Amsoil Unversal,Maxlife ATF and now aso with SUpeTech DEX-VI as well as others that have multiple OEM fluids listed on the back of the bottle.

Think what you will Audi Junkie but s far my bating average is preety good!!!

Let's face it, there are always going to be these factory fluid "fanboys" that will swear up and down that if your utilize anything other than "OEM approved" your are going to VOID the warranty and if nothing else you will be subjecting your engine/trans to accelerated wear and tear. They do not see the error in their ways that is feeding the corporate giants in this world. At the end of the day I too have had first hand experience of "aftermarket snake oils" working as good and many times, better than the factory approved fluids. My latest example would be Red Line D4 in place of T-IV. It is now a totally different car. It's relaxing to drive again and has very smooth, but precise shifting as it was designed to have. Good job John, hopefully this will change some minds.

Of course the problem is that you can't PROVE that the statement is correct anymore than they can PROVE that it is.

""suitable""
is key word about any ATF would be suitbale for about any ATF but APPROVED/WARRANTIED is another thing food for thought.

I've already done a bunch of T-IV drain/refills with supertech DexronVI. I will have several WS drain/refills by the end of summer. No leaks/failures to report. Shift quality is excellent,
smooth, and quick.

I would think that a certain person here would brag how superior DexVI is when compared to the other OE fluids.

The supertech bottle label/picture has been posted in this forum a while ago mentioning all its suitability.

You probably would've gotten the same short-term results had your dain/fills been done with the cheapest hydraulic oil you could find.

Doesn't mean much.

The licensing spec for Dexron-VI is very tight, so the brand name is probably insignificant. There is no "Walmart's own" Dexron-VI...some blender is making it to GM spec and putting into Supertech bottles for Wally.

If Dex-VI is OK for newer Toyota's, fine. It's all red & oily, so if there is a warranty claim, no one will likely ever guess it isn't the factory stuff.

I did a D&R - using dexVI on my 02 Toyo RAV4 - and the shifts are super smooth now, I have used mobil JWS3309 and castrol MV in the past -
It has been a month since the drain - and before the winter I plan to do a 10 litre flush - The little transmission feels 10x better

My keyboard is acting up. Need a a new one.Sorry about that.I do speel bad but I normaly have all the letters their just in the wrong place in this case my keyboard is droping digits/letters! Sorry about that! I have to type hard for it to work!

I am going to use it in Mom's Tundra and Camry. Why spend $$$$ for Mobil 1 ATF when you can get this stuff for less then $3 a quart. It is better then ther factory fill so it is win win all the way around. Especialy when you stop and think that Mom's ATF get's drained and refilled every 15K miles.I fairly sure that I can count on that automatic lasting for at least 300,000 miles maybe more!

I didn't say short term.
But, short term with hydraulic fluid would be immediately felt.
And, noone is recommending an inferior fluid to replace a superior fluid. I would expect and hope that the relatively new DexronVI would be that much better then decade+ older T-IV specs.
