Was thinking about adding one of these coolants to my 2022 Rav 4's overflow bottle. Its just a touch on the low side. I plan on doing a drain and refill come spring but not now. Anyone know of any issues with these coolants ? I have a few bottles of the Prestone Platinum (AMAM) but wasn't sure if putting that in was a good idea or not.

Recently, i bought 4 gallons of Toyota juice. From Toyota. I did not know that Supertech had an equal. If you would have known, I would have gone with the supertech.

I’m running Prestone in my 18 Nissan and nothing eventful to report. Drain and fills every few years seem to be more important than brand me thinks.

I'm sort of leaning toward the supertech Asian Formula: I don't see 2-EHA listed on the ingredients portion. That seems to be the ingredient that gives everyone grief.

if it says made in Canada on it, it is ok to use (made by Recochem). If it says made in USA, it's probably Prestone :sneaky:

Picked it up. Then ran it through the walmart MSDS. Looks like its " Old World Industries"

If I were in your position, I'd buy a gallon of the Peak® red/pink Toyota concentrate or OEM concentrate and a gallon of dollar store distilled water and mix them in a big bucket to wind up with double the 50/50 mix you can keep using. Cheaper than buying 2 gallons of premixed for the same end result.

We'll looks like I'm gonna be using more coolant than expected. 1 month out of the 3 year warranty and the Engine Bypass Coolant valve is leaking, Dealer wants $850 to change it. Looks like its time to get my hands dirty....Didn't think I've need to do this on a low mileage car....not impressed with it so far.

I'm surprised to see an OWI sds here. The most recent Super Tech Asian Phoat AFs have been made by Kost USA, a "division" of Recochem. So, either it's very recent change, or maybe some limited regional sale. The jugs still look the same as the Kost made AF. My skepticism of current Super Tech Asian is nowhere does it say 'no 2eha. True it's not listed in SDS, but possible could be included in the "proprietary" inhibitors. Some think having 2eha in "Asian" AF no big deal. But as long as the OEM Asian AFs avoid it, so will I.

As an aside, Napa Asian AF is made by OWI, I think safe to say it's Peak Asian OET by another name. I've been using it, purchased when on sale.

Wouldn't that be covered under the powertrain warranty? I would contact Toyota corporate by phone and tell them about the issue or try another dealer.

I wish. Already been through two dealers so far and its not covered. Toyota Corporate said the same thing. After going through discovered online that theirs a class action lawsuit over the Bypass valves in the 2.0 Liter and 2.5L dynamic force engines.

Subaru has switched to 2EHA containing OEM coolant (SOA868V9272). This change makes sense, I've been using Dexclones in Asian vehicles for about 17 years now, not one single issue.

If true, that makes one. Honda, Toyota, Nissan still no 2eha. As noted, as long as the vast majority avoid it and there are there are many quality no 2eha AFs in both Asian Phoat AF (including OEM) and universals, no need for me to use. Not that it will change my thoughts but be interesting to see citing(s)/link(s) to show Suby AF has gone over to the dark side. :)

These may have same additives . Click on link below for RED ( Pink ) KIA / HYUNDAI coolant .

Just type SOA868V9272 in Amazon and look at the photo of the back of the bottle, it lists the ingredients. It's a Prestone clone dyed blue.

^^^^Indeed it does. As for Prestone, noticed yesterday their "Asian" 'Max' AF line in multiple tints also uses 2eha which follows the pattern for Prestone. 'For me' based on majority true Asian OEM AFs, I'd pass on those too. As an aside, don't know if it can be found for less, but on Amazon the new Subaru black jug AF is ~$41 for a premix. 😲 I thought one of the "advantages" of using 2eha was it was a lower cost inhibitor.
