I'm currently running Supertech 5w30 synthetic in my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse and it only gets driven about 3,000 miles a year- most of the time it is in storage. Currently the oil has about 500 miles on it (changed it in January) and it won't be driven much at all for the next 8 months, mainly just 25 mile trips once a month. I'm not going to be doing the next oil change til December...is there anything I should add to the oil to keep it from causing any damage to the engine, or is it fine as is?

Fuel should be more of a concern than oil. If the oil is changed once a year it should do no harm. Just be sure the fuel has stabilizer in it.

From what I have read here you should be fine.

Agreed. It's a decent group III synth, and should sit in the engine fine for a year.
