I keep eying the Super Tech Synthetic 5w30 for a shorter 4,500 ~ 5,500 mile cleaning OCI during the Winter ...Have been unable to locate a GF5 / SN VOA of this oil . Anybody with experience using the newest formulation of Super Tech Synthetic 5w30 ?

It has been great for the last 4500 miles in my Trailblazer. Still going strong.
A guy at work uses it in his 07 f150 and that engine runs smooth and quiet. Don't know anyting else about it.

While no Moly per say - appears to have a healthy supply of Boron for anti - wear and Calcium for cleaning .
TBN is slightly low in the 8.0's and VI is a tad low at 168 but including other additives I can't see - there appears nothing to suggest this oil can't go 6,500 miles or perhaps more before I would begin to be concerned with a low TBN . Would I consider this for a 7,500 to 10,000 mile OCI ? No ...But neither would I consider Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W30 for that long of an OCI as well .

Yes, it's a good oil. I find it odd that it's blended with a good dose of Boron, but no Moly. I see that Pro Line and Traveller's are also like that and the bottle is the same design, so I'd think that they are all from the same blender. I wonder what the theory is for leaving out the Moly. Most of the others on the PQIA list that have Boron also have Moly.

I have seen a lot of sleeper oils that don't look like the add packs are anything spectacular. UOA often tell a different story though. I would have no problems running this stuff for at least 7K than send off for an analysis.

In my neck of the woods(though I am sure it differs in other regeions), "Most" SuperTech, ProLine, PEAK, MAG1 are from WPP/WNE products and similar/same in their add pkg as are most WarrenPP oils. We also have Super Tech oils that are from XOM.
OTOH, AdvanceAutoParts(AAP) oils are from a different blender though I have seem some grades that were from WPP/WNE

All SuperTech synthetic is either Warren Distribution or Citgo. The PQIA tested 5w30 is Warren. The Proline and Traveller stuff identical. Standar Warren private label synthetic.

Interesting new SuperTech conventional & synthetic oil bottle at my local Walmart ...Look like the "star wars" inspired XOM bottle - yet bottom of jug says : "WNE" which I believe is Warren - North East location ? ...Hopefully still good add packs / blend as provided by WPP in Mid West ?

The bottles of MAG1 that I've seen have Warren's marking on the bottom. I'm sure that it's regional.

Hmm... Well if I still had the bottles I used I could look and see. My mom drives an old '96 Ford Explorer in the summer, but her winter vehicle is an '05 Lincoln Aviator. Last time I changed the oil I used Mag1 Full Synthetic 5w-40. So far, the results have been great. It gets below zero (degrees Fahrenheit) around my area in the winter alot, and the Aviator starts up first try every time.
