Super Tech Filters

Hey guys...
I went to walmart yesterday to check out the SuperTech oil filters. They look very well built, so I'm considering using these from now on. I looked up the part number for my 02 Z28 (LS1) and it was ST3506.
Question is: Does anyone know the long filter's number (if they even make a long version)?

Just look up the number for a '00 Silverado 1500 with a 4.8L or 5.3L V8. They use PF59's.

I cut one open today, take a look.

Not bad but the can was flimsy. Would I use one, NO, much better one our there.

The is from a 2001 GMC 5.3L (aka the PF59). In case its hard to see, same number as a Fram ST3675.

I'm using a Bosch Premium on my 5.3L it works nicely.

I was at Walmart the other night and there stock of Supertech filters seems to be shrinking, but they sure had plenty of Frams on the shelf.

i was wondering if the supertech oil filter are exactly the same as the STP oil filter?

also, how much do these filters differ from the Bosch premium oil filter?

The SuperTech uses a synthetic blend media. I don't think the STP filters do. The SuperTech is rated 98/99 at 20 micron. The Bosch is rated at 15 microns.

Hey guys, a Champion tech today told me the that the Supertech is the exact same filter as an STP, just a different paint job. I have spoken with several techs at Champion and have asked every one what filter they use. Just about every one said Supertech. -Joe

I just bought a ST3675 and a Bosch 3423. They are totally identical physically with the same markings and stampings on the case. Does anyone know if the media is any different? Do they have anti-drainback valves?

The more I read about the SuperTech, the more impressed I am (for the price). I'd never heard of them...because I never was interested in stepping into a Walmart. After reading about all the great prices on here, I went and my jaw dropped at the selection and low oil and filter prices. My future oil changes will start with a trip to Walmart.

What I have learned here confirms my decision to use ST's on my old
truck rather than Frams or Purolators. I would go back to AC's if I
could find the PF 1177's I need. The ST is better than the Fram and
about the same as the Purolator, but cheaper. Nothing in its price
class comes close to the plain old blue AC's.

Once you start going to walmart you will not stop that was the same with me also look at other things in the store you will have the same reaction

Hey guys....
I went to Walt-Mart a couple of days ago and bought a long version Super Tech filter for my Z. I later went to AutoZone and was a bit shocked to find out that the PF59 AC Delco filter looks exactly the same as the Super Tech....same can, same cartrigde and even a stamped "G" on the inlet plate.
Is AC made by Champ. Labs?

BTW....the Super Tech is doing just fine in my car.

This has been discussed numerous times in other threads. Yes, AC Delco aftermarket filters are made by Champion. Some are also made by Delphi, and these filters look completely different on the end from the Champion made filters.

Look at the inlet ports. If you see rubber through the holes, that's the ADV. Whether a given filter will have an ADV depends on its application.

AC Delco filters are made by Champion, and in-house by GM's Delphi unit.
