I just came from Walmart and the Super Tech oil has gone up to 97 cents per quart. It was 88.
I didnt check to see if it is now SM.

The new Mobil SM went from 1.17 to 1.68 per quart.
It says it is guaranteed for 5,000 miles or 6 months, this however does not apply to severe service applications.

Walmart in my area is now carrying Exxon Super Flow in SL 10W-40 and SM 10w30,it is 94 cents per quart.

Pennzoil is now almost two dollars per quart. Valvoline is about,if not,the same.

Castrol is not very far behind.

Is this just the start or will it level off at these prices?

This reinforces the idea that Superflo and Mobil conventional are parting ways, with Superflo going the bargain route.

At walmart pricing this will probably level off or back down 10-20 cents for a "rollback". I am optimistic there will be sales or rebates 6 to 9 months in the future but no sooner. Crude oil is still pricey, you know.

There are presently great clearance sales everywhere, not just walmart, on API SL stuff. They'll hook the people who are just looking for a good sale and don't care about ratings. Then, there won't be a sale for a while as they recoup their R&D for SM. Just my opinion.
