They lost me at $17 a Jug.
$17 a jug is still a decent deal. Honestly, below $20/jug for the WPP oils are a decent deal. But $20, imo, is the ceiling for them. Above that you're getting into Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic/EP, Castrol Edge, PP, etc.
The whole 20k oil change is nonsense. It will have disclaimer that says follow owners manual.
also I have yet to see an oil that would hold up to a TGDI engine for 20k miles.. mine comes out looking gross in 5000 miles.. no way would I go 20000 in a TGDI..esp with supertech that does not have major approvals.

Costco member here too, just wish they'd have a high mileage blend. I know, I know. I'm one of those weirdo's who thinks if I switch from hi mi oil my seals will all disintegrate in one OCI
Well the Corolla has switched back and forth many times because the only thing that really matters here is out the door price on oil and it what's on sale is HM it goes home with me. If not then the regular oil goes home with me.
Right now Mobil 1 Extended Performance 20K is $27.47 Online just like M1 10K so I would say it's eliminated from the discussion.
Here is my list and only applies to my J-Series Honda and my driving conditions.
Online Walmart Prices 5w30
7.5K - Valvoline Maxlife Blend (5 qt) $12.47 (After $5 Rebate)
10K - Havoline LL Synthetic (6 qt) $19.97
Supertech AS 20K $19.88 (5 qt)
Mobil 1 Extended Performance 20K $27.47 (5 qt)
I have experience with neither of these products but in the testing on the same engines I've seen I would trust the Mobil 1 Extended Performance to go farther. If the Mobil 1 Extended Performance is a 20K Oil in your application I would expect the ST AS 20K to be a 15K Oil.

Not necessarily. At this point its questionable if the Havoline LL or Quaker State Full Synthetic will hold up to the same interval as ST AS 20K.
I don't run ANY oil 20k. Especially Supertech. So for me, 6 quarts for $20 is better than 5 quarts for $20.
Besides, I don't think we've seen anyone run either of those oils for 20k yet and report the used oil analysis. So even if you did run them both for 20k, the Supertech might not do any better.
If were to run an oil 20k, it'd be Mobil 1 Extended Performance. But I won't.
Btw, I did do a run of 4600 miles on my wife's Jeep with Supertech Advanced 0w20. The used oil analysis looked great. But 4600 should be a walk in the park for any decent oil in a Pentastar. No DI or turbo to bother it.
That's funny how you think Supertech is good enough for 20,000 miles, but Chevron and Quaker State aren't
"ST AS 20K".was an abbreviation. I make no claims to the max interval.
Until I see some UOA with 40-50% of virgin TBN at 10,000+ mi on HLL and Quaker State Full Synthetic as well it remains questionable.

"ST AS 20K" was not a mileage claim by me.
For short intervals in an undemanding application I would likely use use Valvoline Daily Protection on clearance for $1 a quart after rebate.
