I'm interested in some light weight over the ankle boots for riding on hot days. I've been looking at the mesh tactical style, and really like the look of a couple of manufacturers such as Bates, Salomon and underarmour. Interested in opinions of those who might wear textile or similar lightweight summer riding boots. Something that's cooler and yet still provide some protection.

Alpinestar SMX-1 and love em.

My only advice is don't buy cheap quality, boots, gloves, or Helmet. They tend to not hold up and protect your body when it counts. I have three different pairs of riding boots, Sidi Mag-1 for the track and street riding on milder days. Sidi ST Air for hot days, and Sidi Crossfire 2SR for riding the Dirtbike.

+10000.

I second this opinion. I've had mine for about 5 years. Great boots.
