Sumitomo Encounter AT All Weather

I’m liking the deep snow traction on these. I have a foot of snow on my street.

How are your feelings as to the Sumitomo"s after running them for a while?
I'm just starting to look around for my future options for my truck and was looking at these. I have Wildpeak at3's on now and these certainly look similar to them.
I'm completely happy with mine and still have 8mm of tread left and I really wish they still offered mine though. BTW I believe mine were made in Indonesia of all places.

Brands and locations of manufacture have little association these days.

My Corvette has USA made Nitto tires. My BMW has Nokians that were made in Russia. I had Brazilian Goodyears, and Michelins and Yokohamas made in the USA. And Continentals made in Eastern Europe.

And my Nitto's are straight from Japan.

Another good option is the Goodyear Ultraterrain AT - https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/goodyear-wrangler-ultraterrain-at

There are people getting 60k out of them and they do fantastic on and off road. I have them on the Land Cruiser. The price is very nice at Discount tire if you have those near you and they are an exclusive tire to them I was told.

I’m finding they are good on ice. I’ve had no problem climbing the 8 % grade of my driveway when iced albeit with 4WD.

Actually, the stickers were gone in 50 miles of driving with no evidence they were ever there. I’ll bet management told the mechanics not to spend time peeling off stickers.
More trash on the side of the road or micro particles in our air. I'd pull them off if the shop didn't. Don't be lazy - put trash in its place.

Any tire that survives ice is OK in my book! Do the sidewalls seem up to snuff, ie do they handle well while turning?
Sorry for all the questions, just looking for a good on road tire that will handle mild logging roads on a rare occasion.
I am also looking at the Nokian outpost nat, however they are so new there isn't much info out there.

Yes, they seem up to the task. These are LT tires mounted on my 3/4 ton Suburban.

Good looking tire....with a snowflake......not sure the snowflake really means that much, but it is good validation.

I am pretty much buying all my tires these days with the three peak snowflake rating. Makes a huge difference when you live in a climate where you frequently get snow and ice.
I had wondered about the snowflake on weather it actually made a difference. Arguably, one of the best if not the best line of snow tires are the blizzak line from Bridgestone, and some do not have the snowflake, whatever that means

One thing I did was to remove the front aftermarket contoured mud guards. The threads were so aggressive, they rubbed on the plastic guards. The snow is gone now. I’d say these tires were every bit as good as any snow tire I ever had. Now to see how they wear this summer.

Great to hear they are doing good in snow!
I've been reading everything I can find on these Sumitomo's and I'd say an honest 95% say they are a great tire. Later this year I plan on purchasing these for my 03 Ram with the 5.9 once my tread gets a bit lower.
I'm completely anal on tires and it takes me quite awhile to make up my mind, guess that's a bit of a downfall on my behalf.
