Sucking in Gumout Regane in the PCV to clean?

One of my car has a direct injection engine that I'd like to clean the valves once in a while. The manufacture recommend GM top engine cleaner but I have a bottle of Gumout Regane at home. Would it be a problem if I use it instead of GM top engine cleaner? It is currently not having problem but I think a bit of preventive maintenance every 30k or so wouldn't hurt.

I think there was a post on here where someone showed pics of a the Valves at 15K or 18K on a DI Engine and they looked horrible, why not add some Regane a hundred miles before your OCI. JMO

In DI engines fuel does not wash the valves, so adding Regane to gas won't help.

OP--PEA is the active ingredient in both. I'd say it is worth a try.

I would do 2 Seafoam treatments through the PCV. Don't bother wasting any of it in the gas or oil.

The pros (fuel economy, reliability of the rest of the car, quality, price) out weight the cons (occasional intake valve cleaning, frequent oil change and large sump, higher tire price).

I still didn't regret buy the same car for the same price 3 years later.

Thanks, that's good enough of an answer.

The pros do NOT outweigh the cons, at this point.
Maybe some of the hybrid dual injector types are OK, but then why bother with DI?

I am not a fan of PCV cleaning. I'd use a strong solvent that is quick acting [not REGANE or TECHRON types. Let it sit after a strong dose.
Like the shampoo bottle says, rinse and repeat.
And don't get your hopes too high.

Sounds like a wonderful idea on a DI engine.

My understanding is that the engine in my car get the intake valve deposit from fuel vapor rather than engine oil vapor. It has no problem at the moment, just that I have a left over bottle of Regane so I think it may be useful if I suck it in via the PCV as they recommend in the TSB under warranty for misfiring engine.

The regane is best left for the tank. Use the GM cleaner or Seafoam designed for the purpose of intake cleaning. On my CTS with the 3.6DI I do this service every now and then...however at every oil change I spray a can of intake cleaner/throttle body cleaner down the intake with the engine running. All sorts of gray stuff drips out the pipes so it is cleaning something. This is my preventative maintenance.

I'll stop by your house and we can remove the intake manifold and clean up this IS250 the right way.

No thanks. It is running fine as is and I'm not going to remove no manifold for no maintenance.

TSB didn't mention removing no manifold neither.
