LOL, BITOG never fails to amuse me. I somehow knew that the first reply would be questioning why someone would want such a thing.

Might as well ask why someone would want to have a radio. "Cars are for driving, not entertainment. I'll take my car with manual cable-operated brakes, no power anything, carburetor, blah blah. Don't want any technology in my car, only causes problems."

Hey at least we are vaguely on topic again!

It's to vibrate the heads of other drivers within a one block radius and generally be an @$$hole.

That's like saying why use synthetic oil? Just to throw money down the drain? Come on

I haven't heard many good sounding "tower" speakers.

There is a technical reason why they might sound bad.

Ive had ML Electrostatic Panels driven by a Bedini amp and ARC preamp.

Didn't like the ARC SP9 but the Bedini was very good and the Panels somewhat Finicky.

Too bad we were into CD era in the late 80s. Flawed medium - not digital in general - but the poor CD standard)

Sound just wasn't the same as a great LP (Though Ive enjoyed listening to some very high end CD replay - the brand name is at a loss me this minute)

I posted that kinda kidding. I'm sure you are not purposely vibrating other people. I never accused you. I know many punks do like to bother others with it though.

Wadia made some good one box cd players back in the day.

I listen and heard as an old, used, cheap Wadia unit destroyed a new top of the line arcam with ring dac.

I think this is gonna look much better - it'll fit neatly on the shelf. In the meantime I'll play with my amp and head unit settings to make my current one sound good.

Alright, so I turned off the LPF on the amplifier, set up the LPF on the head unit (previously head unit LPF was off and the one on the amp was at like 70, no wonder it sounded awful) and turned down the gain on the amp. Sounds great now!
