Subway calls ‘emergency’ meeting with franchisees as sales plummet

I actually like the all american club, heat the bacon only please and double meat.

1) its expensive.
2) a good many of the subways have a sign that they will not honor coupons.
3) service is usually somewhat surly, but not always.
4) not a fan of the automatic add a tip question on the card reader.

None of this is a subway exclusive. You can actually sit down and have a meal for the same money you spend at a fast food joint or slightly more. The only reason to eat fast food is time.

The quality of food items has dropped far over the years. Slimy meat, mediocre bread, etc., has brought Subway down to almost McD levels.
I think McDs is actually better. If in a pinch, an unsweet tea and chicken nuggets are actually consistent. Sometimes the fries are hit or miss, but it’s no worse than the overly starchy subway bread.

That said, subway is so bad I can’t recall when I had one last - I think middle of nowhere Indiana before the CV. McD I’ll get maybe once or twice a year. Their large tea is good when on a long trip.

I find the food quality way too low and the prices way too high in franchises. and chain restaurants.
Yeah I always thought Blimpie was way better, yet they almost disappeared. Same thing with Quiznos. They were started by a couple of DU students and were everywhere 10 plus years ago. Then according to one of my co-workers that worked for a Quiznos they started franchising out and families would come in fire the current store employees then hire their families. In Colorado we had smiling moose deli and my favorite The Spicy Pickle, which had alot of locations. Then some investment that had no experience in food service ran it out of business.

Time for a Chic-fil-A question?
If you're not aware, Chic-fil-A's are not open on Sundays due to the company's position of conducting business on the sabbath.
Fine.
But I've heard Chic-fil-A commercials on the radio on Sundays.
So, is airing commercials considered not conducting business?

They are the only chain type fast food in our town. I occasionally eat there since it's right across the street. Pricing is killing them IMO. I avoid it unless I have coupons because it's just far too expensive.
Agreed 🤝. I simply eat at Chipotle to avoid the bread 🥪 and it's rewards system is much easier to navigate

No C-F-A employee is working on Sunday to make those commercials air. The Bible says not do any work. In fact no radio station employee is playing those commercials, it's all programmed.
Back in the day before any of us, working on a rest day would get you stoned. I've seen people cut their grass on a day of rest, it's been told to me that we cant/won't judge them as that's a job for someone much higher than me.

Chick filet is not running the advertising, Saturday should be the sabbath.

I'm a fan of Primo's but they've gotten very expensive. It's a special treat now and then. Went to Jersey Mike's once. Not as good as Primo's and they messed up our orders.

I've always wondered how they justify having the folks who power wash the parking lot in there on Sunday. About once a year I notice the Chick-fil-A getting a power wash on a Sunday morning.

Not Chick-fil-A employees and the cleaning is done on that companies schedule. I admire Chick-fil-A for being closed on Sunday. We also have a regional tire shop (Les Schwab Tires) that does the same thing. It's a good sign of respect for something other than making a buck.
