Subaru Green

What's the general consensus on what to top up with if the mechanic said they used a "Subaru green or equivalent" on a mid 2000s Subaru? Service manager seemed to think any of the Asian car formulas should work. I wondered if the old green and new Subaru coolant were compatible and if the new Asian car formulas were compatible with one or both. So, if I used a generic name brand "Asian car formula" will it specify old green Subaru compatible or new Subaru or is it all compatible? Maybe I should just call dealer and say, "do you have the old green coolant?"

I'm prepared for a multitude of contradicting answers.

Your going to want to use a P-HOAT AF. Zerex Asian Blue is one

The chemistries of the newer Asian coolants are all similar, but if you want it to stay green you'll want to use a clear(ish) one like Zerex Asian, or one of the green PHOATS like Mazda FL22, Subaru Long Life, or one of the green dyed PHOATs like OEM. I wouldn't mix regular old style green with it. The Nissan Long Life must be pretty good, my brother's '02 Altima now has 16 years & 160K on THE ORIGINAL COOLANT, & it still looks good!
