Looks aiiiight. If it had a little more power it'd be a little more aiiiight.

95% of people that buy them will never even go near a track, so it's a moot point I suppose.

I was thinking the same thing, but then when I took into consideration the weight I don't think it'll be much of an issue. I would guesstimate 0-60 time of somewhere in the 6s

. If it can do that then it would make a great/fun little daily driver.

Edit- Just found a Car and Driver article that talks about it, 0-60 in low 6s. I don't like the $25k base price though!

It really looks nice!!! I like how a lot of the subaru's look. If they only had a forester or the outback without awd, it would be my next car.

It is pretty neat, although I'm not sure how well the shape will age.
Those wanting more power need only wait for the inevitable turbo.
I would also be surprised if an AWD version weren't offered later on.
The pretend back seat is a marketing necessity, even for those who will almost never need it.

They pretty much can't make it AWD, the engine is too low and back too far. The necessary parts just wouldn't fit. A turbo version will likely happen though.

This is a neat engine for Subaru. 7400 rpm and 12.5 to one compression!

Nifty for sure. Haven't seen too many N/A Subarus that would do better than 140 either.

Don't underestimate the masters of AWD.

I like what I see, and it has plenty of power for what it is. There are tons of other options if you simply want a powerful car. It's great to see a light, affordable, RWD sports coupe available again. The only recent cars that come to mind that are even comparable are the RX-8 and Miata, which are both in different categories than the BRZ/GT-86 anyway. At 53/47, it doesn't quite have the optimum weight distribution of those cars, but it has fewer other compromises for someone on a budget.

The SVX would do 144 mph completely stock: but would only go above 140 with Premium Unleaded.

I use Regular and averaged 28+ on my last cross-country trip of 11K miles.

Cheers!

Exactly. Love it or leave it, that's their claim to fame. I can't see Subaru making anything other.

I was excited when I heard about the new subaru. When I saw the final product I was very dissapointed. It just looks like it had some nice fender flares then was slammed through a alley that was too narrow. I hope an sti model will look better because it is such a great idea. I would still take an s2000 for a fun rear drive corner carver. Thats not to say my opinion could totally change if I have the chance to drive one.
