Just mental fencing here. What happens if you don't put a cartridge filter in on oil change? Any damage, or loss of oil pressure, etc...

+1 on Furious' suggestion.

In my application, omission of the filter element would simply result in no filtration.
However, if a 3.6l Pentastar filter element, with the little plastic projection, was omitted, all the pumped oil would be short circuited into the pan.

Clarifying question...

Are you asking...?

If I DO NOT replace the cartridge filter, and just change the oil, and continue to run the used filter?

or

If I REMOVE the current cartridge filter, and run the new oil change with NO FILTER?
remove the current cartridge filter and run the new oil with no filter.

I'm not going to do it. I'm just wondering about stuff to help pass the time. Not really trying to break the internet or curdle my milk or anything. :)

Sound like a good project for a YouTuber to get some clicks, lol.

It would be another good chapter for the FAFO crowd
