Struts need to break in before alignment?

2007 Dodge 1500 hemi, quadcab, 165,500 miles.

Putting on new front strut/spring combos.

Do I need to drive it a while to let the struts break in before alignment?

Usually a short test drive is more than sufficient.

Think about it this way - do new vehicles get test driven after leaving the assembly line before getting aligned? Probably not.

The drive to the alignment shop is the break in. As critic said new cars are already aligned before being driven off the line.

If quick struts were installed, this can be true.

Sometimes it will take a bit for the springs to settle. I've had sets that settle over the course of a week. The ride height may change slightly, which will change the camber.
