Strange Noise?

I have a 2005 Caddy, RWD, 3.6 V-6 with the auto. Lately it makes a whining noise when
coasting. The noise goes away when I put my foot back on the gas. Please help, thanks

Seconded. Have a bad pinion bearing that does the same in the Cherokee rear axle.
