Why not try a Fram Ultra for 2 OCI?

I have one on now on its second OCI I like the Fram Ultra great filter but my father gave me two STP blue cans for my birthday and I figure I would use them up this summer.

They are a standard grade Champ filter like AC Delco, old Supertech, etc. On par with the Purolator Classic and Fram OCOD.

6000 miles depends entirely on the engine you want to use it on.

Not anymore. Now made offshore by ?? manufacturer. No STP filters are made by fram or champion labs. Any remaining are old stock.

Are STP branded oil filters still being sold?

Still sold at local AZ stores here. And in this area as of checking in the last couple weeks still a combination of champ and fram construction (former fram filtration) with recent manufacture dates. Some other STP anecdotes posted here from the western US and one recently from PA show M&H Puro construction made in US. No off shored 'standard' STPs currently in this area or anecdotes posted on this board afaik.

Only AZ STP labeled filters with off shore coo at AZ here is the newer STP XL filters, which have been posted here before. They are made by Daewha in Korea.

As for topic question, generally speaking imo 6k miles would be the max I would go with the standard STP.

After reading this thread, thought I'd check local AZ stores to see what the topic standard blue can STP are currently. At three area stores all STP blue cans are still the combination Champ Labs and some Fram construction (former fram filtration). At one store an employee was restocking the STP filter shelves with the same type and manufacturer filters. Some manufacture dates were as recent as last month.

So in this area, no change of manufacturer as of this time.
