The local dollar store has a shelf of cheaply priced STP engine oil. I vaguely remember them marketing some 10W-50 engine oil ~25 years ago, but I've never used it. I still don't plan on purchasing any, but am curious of the manufacturer and the quality of it. Anybody here ever do some analysis on it? Now I've always known better than to use 10W-50 in an automotive engine, but the current weights are correct with what the manufactures call for. Anybody? Pretty sure what I saw was SM rated.

Clorox owns the trademark, but if I'm not mistaken, the oil is blended by J.D. Streett. Doesn't it state that on the bottle?

STP Motor Oil(SM Rated) is available at Dollar General for $1.65/qt.
They have 10W30 and 10W40 oils, as well as DexIII, which is also $1.65.
Ive used it in the past, if I could'nt find a sale on oil.
