STP date code ?

earlier today i cut open a stp filter for the old chevy motors. i was really sad when i saw sludge in it. i think my dad put 2050 in it the last change but i dont remember...


anyways. is there a way to decifer the date number on the bottom ? i can honestly say the oil/filter in this truck could be ~10 years old.....

Does it have a metal center tube or a plastic cage?

fwiw the adbv is stiff.

Or 09/03/2003? Don't know if Champion Labs made the STP filters in 2003, but I'd call them to check the date code. Ten years without an OC or filter change makes for sludge. Good luck.
