STP cut open 10,000 miles

So some of you know I bought a 1000 dollar 1989 Buick for my daughter's sister (my daughter is adopted). She had me do the brakes on Wednesday. She has put 10,000 miles on this filter and Castrol GTX(she has had it about 6 months) I had to remove the A/C it did not work when I bought the car, the bearing on the pulley went bad and I was able to buy an A/C delete pulley. The oil was still full! She never checked any fluids. It is a GM 3800. Blows my mind. At any rate car maintenance is not her strong suit. I have had a few drinks, please excuse any errors.

Pennzoil 10w30 and a Bosch filter.

The Pennzoil Conventional and the Bosch filter or the 10k OCI? I think I already know the answer.

Either way she lives an hour south of me so not much I can do.
I paid for this last round of maintenance and hope she will get an oil change at perhaps 5000 miles.

It doesn't look bad at all to me, though through my eyes I can only tell the difference if a filter is new, used, or filled with sludge. This one just looks 'used' to me. I know I've heard or seen that many say the bending of the pleats is quite normal and nothing to be concerned about. Downright impressive that it lost no oil in 10k, either.

I agree in this circumstance since who knows when it will be servuced again.

Just FYI, sometimes you can get a belt that bypasses the A/C and leave it there. Also, on ebay for about $40-50 they sell the front assembly with the bearing so you can RR and not disconnect the A/C. I doubt it worked anyway being a GM system.

Looks like it was the diesel 3800.

I thought all STP Blue's were ecore?

Put a Napa Gold or FRAM ULTRA on that with Valvoline Maxlife Syn or Mobil 1 High Mileage and call it a day.

You couldn't put a short belt on this car there was no way to make the water pump rotate the right way. They had the bypass pulley in stock at the local Orielly's. It was 44 bucks.
A/C didn't work and I will take a picture but you were not R/Ring this one the pulley had been spinning on the snout. Like I said car maintenance is not this girls strong suit.

50 miles on the freeway a day, but a lot of it is stop and go.(Seattle traffic)
I am happy it didn't use any oil, but it only has 96,000 easy miles on it.

Like I said she lives about an hour south of me so I rarely see the car.

She might be back in a couple of months to visit her sister and I will probably change the oil again.

At least it is good to go now. New front brakes, new rear wheel cylinders fresh oil and brake fluid.

They were until recently, when they switched suppliers.

Well I called her my daughters sisters. Seems odd that she would not be my daughter. Maybe not I don't know, but there is a large age difference my daughter is 7 her sister is 23.
Was just explaining why my daughter's sister is not my daughter.

I guess I am just used to people asking why isn't she your daughter. So I explained it up front.
