My mom has a 2004 Monte Carlo with the 3800 engine, it has been a super reliable car.
She has it maintained well but it has been through like 12 NY winters. Still drives the heck out of it every day.

It should be printed on the top correct? I can get it when I get home from the gym.
Man you have an 86 Lancer Turbo. I owned something to the tune of 7 different Mid to late 80's turbo MoPars. I love those things.

Those 3800 were built like tanks and pretty easy on the oil as well. Since she had no consumption that engine sounds like a winner

It wasn't short tripped and with a quality conventional it may have been a perfect oci.

Yep although the last two summers have been unseasonably warm.

Sprite beat me to the date code so thanks LS1Mike and Sprite
I'm running these on all my vehicles now. For 3 bucks I can change them every couple thousand miles and sweeten the sump a bit.
The filter did it's job well beyond manufacturer recommendations. And yes that is a Purolator date code. Good post.

If the filter was a month or so newer, you would've had the new design with the slotted center tube. The private label jobber filters got the redesign in April, whereas the cans Purolator waited until July to sell the redesign under their own name.
