But I am generalizing here a little. There are non-energy conserving 5w30 oils out there, too, with relatively high HT/HS (such as BMW High Performance oil made by Castrol). So, focusing on the SAE grade isn't always the correct approach. Rather, focus on other specs required by the engine mfg.
