A couple years back I got a Harboring Fright stand for my planer

It’s ok but has some flex when moved no matter how tight the fasteners are. Kind of irritating.

I was contemplating some stiffeners made from pipe or angle or flat steel. Seems like an easy thing but still a pain. As I was cleaning I had an idea

Why not just tension? Couple turn buckles, chain, eye bolts I already had and used existing holes in the legs. Excellent! Just barely tension needed- don’t over tighten! No flex at all

I have a Dewalt Planer Stand for the 733 planer. It was about $150, I think. I get a discount at Home Depot, and it was bought a few years back.

Your solution is brilliant, and far less costly than what I was going to recommend.

The original fasteners look a bit weak too, maybe some washers would help. Really a few more gauges of metal would have helped.
