Sthil MS-172 CE chain saw

I am considering purchasing a Sthil ms-172 ce chain saw, does anyone have any input with this smaller chain saw or similar size , looking for a $250 dollar or less home type saw,14-16 bar.

Home saw as in very occasional use? Battery powered ones have the advantage of not requiring carb maintenance. Something like the EGO.

I'd probably go Echo or definitely look at them.
Looking at them I’d look at a CS352

I have a Stihl MS-180 C that I bought 12 years ago. It gets used around the yard to trim trees and such, perhaps 2-3 times a year. It has served me great for that. It has always started and ran well. Never any problem at all.

I bought a still several years ago and would buy another one if needed. Good saws, easier to get the chain on and off with the internal clutch. Like others said keep the chain sharp. I use 40:1 with 91 E0 and it always starts after a couple pulls.
