Sell the Saturn. Without a third car and the Saturn as your daily driver, what if it doesn't start one morning and you're late for work, or it requires repair at a shop for a couple days and you're without a car for a couple days...

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Yep, the Saturn is fully depreciated. But you know-it's not something you care about the minute it won't start or gives you issues on the way to the train station.

Can you bum a ride to the train station if your car balks? Ride a bike? Emergency plan B? Sounds like you're in dense suburbia to urbia.
I keep a motorized bicycle, it'll do 28 MPH easy, and it costs NOTHING a year to just sit here as it doesn't need reg/ inspection/ insurance etc. I occasionally throw it on a bike rack so I can drop my car at the mechanic and putt on over to work.

An unexpected breakdown is not the end of the world, there are options but of course none are as convenient as getting in the car and going.
Insurance wise the only new savings I'll get is mileage discount. Already liability only on both the Saturn and Cobalt. The deductible is already at $1K for comp and collision on the Cruze, and IIRC Penfed wasn't happy when I refinancing and wouldn't opt for the $500 deductible so that's not changing unless a decide to pay the loan.
Rust isn't bad yet (surprising I know). Rear sills are original and still in good shape.
Biggest appeal that got me thinking about it is the known history of the Saturn versus the unknown of the Cobalt, perhaps I'll give it a few months and re-evaluate - I also have very little desire to go car shopping if something does go wrong with whatever we keep.

number of cars = number of drivers + 1 for me
unfortunately used GM cars dont really have a ton of value (ask me how I know ~'old malibu') but if you know they run decent just keep all 3. an accident or major repair could cripple any at any time. insurance cant be that much.
