I've been using this additive to combat the lack of
lubricity in todays low sulfer diesel fuel. I have
a 97 PS.

Is this product satisfactory for my use? I'd like to
purchase something in at least a gallon volume to save
money.

Can someone recommend a quality product that I can buy
in volume.

Stanadyne makes excellent diesel fuel additives, but can be sometimes expensive. Stick with it and measure accurately to reduce expense!

Around here, evilmart has Powerservice products, local autoparts, marine, or online stores have CRC, Redline, Amsoil, Howes, Lubridiesel, Schaeffers, Primrose, Lucas, FPPF, Pri-D, Delphi......

IMO, ANY of the diesel fuel additives should always be used. Use the antigel ones when weather approaches freezing.

It'll take a few jugs of each to find what is best for you(everyone has their own opinion on what is best).

Don't rule out biodiesel. 2% improves lubricity greatly.

thank's for you response. I will ck the truck stops.

I also found stanadyne online for abour $20 a half gallon,
which was much cheaper than NAPA quoted me ($37) for a
half gallon. I'll look around and see what I come up with.

www.dieselpage.com has stanadyne 6 half gallons for $114, that is a bit higher than my last purchase of 6 half gallons for $96.
Single half gallons are $20

do not know what effect shipping would have on actual delivered prices.

If you drive a lot you can save by purchasing it in the case of 6.

I bought some of the Stanadyne Performance Formula for me parents 95 Chevy with 6.5 turbo diesel. After loosing injection pump #4, and it being the last one covered by extended warranty, Stanadyne was recommended by GM. So far, truck runs better, and the injection pump is OK after 1 1/2 years. I bought it by the case to get a discount. Their website will have distributors in your region, so you may be able to save on shipping. Last time I purchased it, it had the new formula you. The diesel tech said they had to add more lubricity to compensate for the reduced lubricity in the newer diesel fuel. I took one of the tops off the Lube Control bottle, and it fits well on the Stanadyne bottle which has clean markings. It is cheaper by the half gallon. If you go that route, I would buy one or so of the smaller bottles for measuring/dispensing.

How about Amsoil's new Diesel Concentrate Performance Fuel Additive (ADF)? http://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/g2236_rev1_07.pdf .
Preferred Customer cost is $57 for twelve 16oz bottles (1.5 gallons). One ounce treats 5 gallons. What is the treat rate for Stanadyne? This is formulated for the new Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuels. Some of the others were formulated for the Low Sulfur Diesels Fuels.

It says 16 oz. treats 60 gallons= 3.75 onces per gallon for the Performance Formula. For the 1/2 gallon, 64 oz treats 250 gallons= 3.91 ounces per gallon. Is that right? My math is not very good, but it is off a little. Stanadyne has a Lubricity Formula (if I remember correctly), which was actually recommended for breaking in the injection pump. It was a little cheaper, but was not recommended for winter application (by the diesel mechanic with winter approaching). Looks like the Amsoil product is cheaper.

3.75-3.91 gallons of fuel per ounce of additive!
Math was backyards. You'll end up spending a fortune if you add 4 ounces to each gallon. Flip the numbers. ~1 ounce per 4 gallons sounds cheaper or ~.25 ounce per gallon.
