Stability issue in F250

When driving my 2015 F250 at 65 or 70 and I hit uneven pavement or bridge expansion joint the pickup shakes a little and feels like if I had been going faster I might have lost control. With only 33K on the clock it cannot be a worn part. Diesel engine, 4x4 and driver, no load or passengers.

Ideas?

Don't assume that low miles means no parts have failed. Sometimes a factory part fails prematurely or is a defective design.

I would also see if the truck needs a wheel alignment.

Steering stabilizer and alignment is my first thought. I too doubt it would be suspension parts, but with that low mileage I'd have it in for an inspection under warranty.

Maybe suspension damage?

If you cant figure it out and you are driving..
how are we supposed to figure out an issue the truck shouldnt be having?

Have it inspected?

2015_PSD had a bad body mount at some ridiculously low mileage. Like the first week he had it or something and he bought it new. Also I think a tie rod failed.

I agree with everyone else's idea of what could be going on. I would add possibility of tires.. My step fathers F 250 did much better with a 12 ply tire vs. the 10 ply tires that had been on it. It rode much better with far greater stability with the thicker side walls on it. Too much flex in the side walls of a higher profile and heavier truck certainly can cause the "hospital hop" feeling that is not pleasant.

Is this more pronounced if you're turning at speed? If so it could simply be the side-step solid axles are known for. Does something similar happen with your 99 Dodge diesel?

Have you checked your tire pressure?

Tie-rods-->tires-->ball joints-->steering stabilizer-->body mount in that order. Take it to the dealer, it should still be under warranty.

Solid axle front ends behave much differently than IFR. Make no assumptions about nothing being worn or defective with low mileage, mine rolled off the line with a bad tie-rod and body mount. It has also had 6 new Michelin AT/2's installed on it (they are garbage, so if you have those, they are likely contributing to the problem).

My Jeep needed a track rod bushing @ 18k. It had death wobble like your Ford has

On the Jeeps and RAM trucks, it's usually caused by a failure of the lateral link (trac bar, panhard bar).

The Ford trucks use radius arms instead of a 4 link, but it should be similar concept; a worn lateral link could cause some unintended, uncontrollable bump steer and oscillations

Todays vehicles are made of cheaply sourced parts.The bean counters are in full force more than ever.If you thought leaving off a $2.00 Corvair sway bar or $1.00 Pinto gas tank shield was being cheap,they have no end of their cheapness now.No matter if you spend $50K for a new truck or $12K for a new Versa....they are still cheap.

It does not happen with the Dodge Ram. It's RWD so no solid front axle I assume
