ST3600 (cut open)

Ran this filter for 4k miles with PYB 5w30 for the first time. The reason for opening this filter was to see how much PYB cleaned up, this is the first time I have ever seen the trucks filter loaded with this much stuff.. I've owned this pathfinder since it had 99k miles currently has 217k miles and OCI of 4k miles average. I'm about 500 miles till my next oil change and I'm currently running PYB 530 with BG MOA and can't wait to open the filter again.

Looks like it dislodged some old crud that was lingering around nooks and crannies. Thanks for the pictures.

That's a lot of debris in 4k miles. I would change the current oil + filter now rather than waiting for the 4k OCI.

In realitive size, that stuff is HUGE. It's not like any of that was going to get back into the lube circuit.

Given the loading percentage of the heavy particulate (perhaps 15-20%?), I'd say you had some life left in that filter. The filter was doing exactly what it's supposed to do, and it's not anywhere overloaded yet.
