Squeaky clutch noises

I drove in to work today and noticed the clutch was making a squeaking/groaning noise as I pushed in the pedal. I hear and feel it in the cab on the clutch pedal, no odd noise from the transmission. In neutral with the engine off it still made the noise and you can feel it in the shifter knob. I'm at work now so can't check it out until later. Anybody else have this happen? It's a 2001 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9 and a 5speed NV3500. 104,000 miles on it and no clutch or trans problems until now. Clutch is hydraulic and has a master and slave cylinder operation.

I appreciate any help.

The fact that the noise is there when the engine is off leads me to believe it's the pivot points as already mentioned.

I need to carry WD 40 in my truck. I'm at work until 7 tonight and can't check it until I get home. The suspense is killing me...

Try white lithium grease in a spray can (anyone can jump in if they've got an even better product). WD-40 will last only a short while, then it's squeek time again.

WD 40 will work for a day or two, but it too light.
Lithium spray is too heavy and will not get into tiny passages and clearances. It kinda stays on top, just like with a door hinge and does not get inside where it is needed the most.
Use a motorcycle chain oil, or a spray gun oil.
