Screening more soil for gold.
Been at it for weeks now. Late season wet snow storm made an awful mess broke hundreds of branches.
Clearing and cleaning the hilly back 1/4 acre, fixing and testing irrigation lines, mowed twice already.
Wife's working the new 40V makita powerhead - beast of a trimmer feels every bit the equal to my Stihl FS-70 in power.
I use the twin 18/ 36V powerhead and we work the property together.

These Maples seem to bloom overnight... Got a little dead-wooding to do.
I have started to pick up the sticks and pinecones in my yard. 3/4 acre yard. I am thinking 15 give gallon buckets
Pulled the plow off my tractor today. Picked up an 8' truck bed of sticks, cleaned out the final garden, put pre-emergent crabgrass treatment down and fertilized shrubs and trees. I need to get the mower onto my tractor this week. Grass really going to town.
I only do moving and trimming in season. In so far as brush and tree removal, and tree trimming, I only do that in the winter, and that is because of all the ticks. I did just do an oil change on the lawn mower.
I am not going to put down crabgrass preventer this year. I want to do some seeding and killing crabgrass is not that difficult.

My lawn guy did his first mow of the year on 3/17. Considered doing it myself this year, then stopped.
March is my favorite month. Not too hot, but break out the shorts; winter's over!
March April May June July is my favorite month
Just started today. Lawn was thick and green in some spots, so I got the mowers out of hibernation.
Also wanted to clear all the brush and small trees by a power pole at the corner of my property. It's technically the neighbors property, but I got permission to and I quote "do whatever the heck you want"
I love that little ol' lady!
Well, I started to do the chainsaw work and my used and abused Ryobi gas 16" chainsaw wasn't having it. It didn't owe me anything and I used that thing in ways I shouldn't have. Had to run up town to Tractor Supply and pick up a new Husqvarna 440 18" saw. That was my "splurge" for the past couple weeks overtime!
I did have to drag out an old pole that they used as a property marker. It was rotten and burned? Odd, but there used to be a burn barrel in that area.
LOTS more work to go. Flower beds all need cleaned out, some shrubs whacked down completely again, edging needs dug out in some spots and re-set. Got to grab several bed loads of mulch. I've been lazy the past couple years and its bit me in the behind.

I only hand raked and put down pre emergent so far lawn is still sleeping
I have planted 5 decent size evergreens this spring. I am reforesting the very back section of our property. I started this 5 years ago and over half done. The oldest trees are very tall now. I TRY to get them in in the fall, but if I find a deal in the spring I go for it even though it might entail watering them

Of course it's always much longer than I think by then so I have to make multiple passes to get rid of the clumps. I should probably not do the back-and-forth pattern when it's really though, but I try to get stripes 
Pre emergent will get put down one day this week before the supposed last rain.
it's time to start irrigating here, this means the first runs supply comes out of your well vs irrigation water which starts 4/15 -
It always makes me nervous even though I control the flow into a secondary tank, and pump from there.

I usually leave my mulching blades on for the first couple mows, I just take the block-off cover off. It's quite clumpy, especially the backyard due to the drainfield. I really shouldn't do that as it mows better with the high-lift blades, but I'm lazy and forgetful
I don't have mulching blades, well, unless the stock blades do some mulching. I have a small, 36" Hustler zero-turn (fits through our gate) and I have to run it with the discharge 'shield' pulled up out of the way. I don't think it has enough power to throw the grass that well with it down in the normal position. I also have the deck height with a spacer (okay, it's really just a thick nut) to get a little add'l height beyond the 4" or 4-1/2" max height (can't remember which it is).
