Springfield SA35

I think you were making an argument that someone has to be skilled at something before they make a YouTube video.

I’m not sure anybody is buying that argument…
Posters? Absolutely not!……. I talking to the very few viewers that haven’t woke* up yet!

*did I just find a sensible use for the “woke” word?

So today I put 183 rounds through the SA-35, of which there were 70 Winchester WB 115gr fmj, 100 blazer aluminum 115gr fmj, and 13 Winchester 115gr hollow points.

I am very pleased with the operation of this gun. The sights are excellent, the trigger is light with a clean, crisp break, recoil is virtually non-existent, and the pistol is very accurate. I had no malfunctions except for an odd empty case that extracted, then flipped 180 degrees to rest on top of the empty magazine when the slide locked back...can't really say I blame the gun on that one. 🤔 The pistol really smoothed up after a couple of magazines were shot through it. I definitely like it and look forward to shooting it again soon.

Good to hear. Any feel for accuracy? Everyone defines it differently.
My feel for accuracy is I hit what I aim at 😅 I'm shooting steel plate so if they are swinging I'm happy. I'm not much for punching paper.

Congratulations!

I was able to buy a new manufacture FN Hi Power Standard back in 2014.

I've heard people say that the triggers aren't good, but mine's great. I think it did get a little better after I removed the magazine disconnect safety.

But anyway, it has no creep or grit, just a bit of takeup, then a wall. Break is crisp and clean.

No issues with it, and the blueing on it is fantastic!

Feel fortunate to be able to own a pistol that has such a cool history. I just always wanted one ever since I was a teenager sitting in bookstores reading the gun magazines. Just the name alone was cool enough that I made up my mind, that one day, I'd own one. At that time, I didn't even know the history of the gun. When I learned about the origins of the gun, and its history through the 20th century, I just wanted one even more.

I think it's one of the coolest guns I own.

I inherited my dad’s 1968 Browning Hi Power. It’s very accurate. It’s also heavy. Racking the slide is tough. It stays well oiled and in the original leather case. The Hi Power platform gun isn’t something that I would carry.

The Springfield slide has limbered up considerably, as has the takedown lever, but neither is as smooth as my Beretta 92. I don't find the Springfield to be heavy at all, but again, I'm comparing that to a Beretta 92. I'd like to carry it but it needs more rounds through it, so I'm still carrying the 92.
