Not high enough to mow here but i was trimming along the woods here and noticed 1000s of walnuts still on the ground. I have never seen this here.. usually the squirrels have eaten them already and I'm not seeing them either..
This year we had hard ice and deep snow sitting for a few months . I'm guessing many animals didn't make the winter???

Not mowing the entire property. Just around the house where it grows early.

I might be mowing by Saturday with this 72 degrees ..A few nights ago it was 20F
A few days ago started to clean some downed tree limbs bordering the woods and noticed 3 small dark spots on the right lower pant leg . They were 3 deer ticks and swatted them off and called it quits . I've had 2 or possibly 3 cases of anaplasmosis . The last time I had it I would get light headed and have to catch myself from possibly falling . Went to doctor and blood work indicated I had it . It's nothing to mess around with . Took Doxycycline for 2 weeks . I may have had it for a month or 2 thinking it was allergies or other illness . For months I would get chills and tingling in legs , arms and head ( face ) . Had more blood tests after the medicine and all was fine . Have brain fog issues but not sure if it's related to the anaplasmosis or just getting old or both .

Lots of tick disease in my area. Both me and a former dog had Lymes. We got over it.
A friend of mine got some kind of unusual tick borne disease two years ago. Unable to walk for a year. Slowly getting over it. Can now just drive. It took specialists at Hopkins to determine the cause.
