Will be removing the front springs on my 2002 Silverado (5.3L) and need a solid spring compressor that will not fail and send me to the hospital.

Any recommendation is greatly appreciated.

I use Klann compressors as are prescribed for the very heavy and long springs on old MB diesels. I have a Klann more standard design I’ve used on struts. I’m sure they have other quality made ones that will meet your need. Be safe!

I dunno where else to put this (nothing in the forum rules would allow it in the Product Rebates (Deals)) area), but if you're in or near PA this is a STUPID deal on an OTC Strut Tamer badged as a Kent Moore. It even looks to include the gear reduction box on top from what I can tell, making it a Strut Tamer Extreme. If I were closer I'd grab it just because - - even though I already have a new Strut Tamer. Kent Moore CH-48845 on BIN for $352 in Somerset, PA (not my auction, no affiliation, I'm in Colo!)

Seriously, one of our members could get arguably the best spring compressor for $350.
