Spraying Polyurethane

Has anyone ever sprayed polyurethane clear coat for wood projects with a HVLP spray gun? Any helpful mixing ratios with mineral spirts to thin it down a little for better spraying?

What kinds of poly are you thinking of spraying? If its the single stage thick stuff try a batch of 75/25 and use a 1.8-2.2 nozzle. That should at least get you in the ballpark.
Its going to take a little trial and error as every brand is slightly different so start with small batches before mixing a qt.

You can also get great results with automotive 2K thinned down a lot for the first coat for really deep pore penetration the go unthinned for the other coats, dries fast too.
