Yes it can.
I just detailed a 2013, brand new straight off the truck, it was hammered, swirls, scratches, etchings from bugs and bird droppings, embedded iron, you name it, just trashed.

Well, I finally had a little time to work on the car today, so I cleaned the inside of it before I lost day light. They're calling for temps. in the low 50's tomorrow, so I'm hoping to wash, clay bar it, and wax it. I know I'm pushing things temperature wise, but I don't think I'm going to get a day any warmer than this the rest of winter, atleast not during the weekend when I have time to do it. I have a turtle wax ice clay bar kit that I'm going to use and then I'll wax it with some Nufinish paste wax. Not the best, I know, but I'm hoping it will protect for a few months until I can get some Duragloss 501 and Collinite 845. It'll hopefully be a little warmer then too
Turtle ICE spray on my new Accord really beads up in the rain.
No idea how long it will last tho. Really easy on/off with no streaking, can be used on black plastic W/O streaking or whiting.

I've used that stuff before. While its super easy to use and doesn't look to bad, I found it doesn't last all that long

Surf City has some excellent spray wax/detailer sprays, been using them all summer

I use Eagle One Wax As U Dry at every wash on my Cruze. I use it on my wife's malibu and water was still beading after 6 weeks. You can't go wrong with alot of over the counter products but I like Eagle One. I believe any suggestions on this site would be of great benefit.

Large beads or small beads...I say small, my neighbor says large.

Kita, whenever Consumer Reports tests car waxes they mention somewhere in the article this rule of thumb; wax when the size of the water beads exceed the diameter of a quarter.
So, according to CR, smaller is better.
Judging by what I see on MOST cars, ANY water beading would be good.

I have used every product out there. Finally someone turned me on to Chemical Guys Hybrid V7. This is the best product I have ever used. I use it on our cars and my Yamaha. The brighest shine I have yet to get out of any product.So far I am getting about 2 months of durability out of it, but it does not matter because it is so easy to apply.

You are right, your neighbor is wrong. It's so easy to prove too...just wax a panel and immediately spray the hose on it and you will see the tiny beads running everywhere.

Clevy, I have a 2012 and 2002 Mustang. Also a 2012 and 2004 Escape and a 2008 Yamaha Road Star Silverado. To many Fords, lol.
But I am 56 years old and trying to detail cars like I have all my life has gotten very hard. So it is frustrating to someone who prides himself in beautiful looking vehicles. I have tried everything from Dodo Juice to One Grand Blitz to Mothers to everything. The reality is, most are very good, it is the longevity of each which is the killer for me.
I was told to go with Fusion from Chemical Guys twice a year and then use Hybrid V7 every couple of months. You spray it on and it interacts into the paint and you just wipe it back off. Very simple and for a old fud, just what I was looking for.
My surprise is the shine that came out was better then any carunuba or synthetic product I had ever tried. I was literally astounded how well silvers and dark colors looked. So it made keeping my vehicles looking good, it made it so easy that it allows me to keep my pride.
Very good products that they put a lot of time into developing and worth the money for them, which isn't bad either.
