May as well give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.
As has been mentioned, an electric carving knife is the tool of choice.
Worst case scenario, you have to carve it in smaller pieces for disposal.
When I cut one up for disposal I used a 1x6 laid down under it and then another on top to kneel on to compress somewhat. Then used a sharp 10" boning knife. Pretty easy to cut. As long as you don't saw much you get a clean edge.
