I still have a pair of Serengeti's from 1986 that I paid $140.00 before I went on my honeymoon to Hawaii.23 years !
I guess they were pretty good.
Best sunglasses I've ever owned.

Yes , very expensive back then. Carbon Fiber frame, Dow Corning glass lenses that were made for use by NASA for the shields on space helmets. They were designed to block glare, yet retain / enhance color and can be used in fog also. . At least that's how they were promoted.Thats $348 today.
Yikes!
So, one experience 41 years ago defines a city?If New York city is anything like what it was when I was there in 1981, I'd say don't forget to pack some nose plugs.
I was only there for a cab ride from one airport to the other and the only thing I really remember was how awful it smelled.
For me it did, I couldn't imaging waking up every morning with that smell hanging in the air and I spent a lot of time on a hog farm growing up.So, one experience 41 years ago defines a city?
There’s no chance that your 40+ year old experience is no longer germane?
I remember back in the '60's when I lived in Jersey and went to NYC coming out of the tunnel how different it smelled, not bad but different. If New York city is anything like what it was when I was there in 1981, I'd say don't forget to pack some nose plugs.

Yes, the high line is great!Take a stroll on the high line. There’s a great Turkish place at the one end to eat at outdoors if it’s not too hot. Or go down and ride the staten island ferry across and back.
