Speed limiters on autos

No! Not in any way. This from retired LE. Do not fall for the "public safety" argument that was abused after 911. Gov't has continually encroached on freedoms and will not relent. The arguments they use are emotional-based and have an underbelly to them. Control is the ultimate goal. We have enough of that already.

I don't care really, if I was offered 1/3 off my insurance for even a 75mph limiter on my cars, I would take it. And having two boys that will become drivers soon, maybe a 65mph limiter would be fine!
If I/they want to get some thrills, skis or bikes or dirt bikes or autocross is way better than excessive speeding on public roads.

Should autos have speed limiters to avoid high speed police chases??
Yes, but not to avoid high speed police chases. (The police can already avoid those if they choose.)

It's because there's absolutely no reason any road-legal vehicle needs to exceed 90mph. And that includes police and emergency vehicles. I've got enough things endangering me and my family without Andretti wannabes on roads I pay for with my tax dollars.

Track vehicle or ORV - anything goes.

I don't think many realize how deadly speed limiters on vehicles are. They are beyond hazardous from a safety point of view.
Huh? Seeing that speed limiters on cars in the U.S. are set well over 100 mph in most cases, please explain how they are hazardous? Are you suggesting you might be chased by killers or something and are trying escape?

Limiting all vehicles at a speed of 65 MPH or 70 MPH or even 75 MPH will have very bad consequences.

Depends on whether you want to kill off the automobile market by turning cars into glorified golf carts.
I think that may be the ultimate plan. Make everything so unattractive or expensive that most people don't want it or can't afford it. I mean it makes sense. Keep the herd under control and safe so you can milk them. Say goodbye to ownership. Most everything will be on a rent or subscription basis for the masses.

High speed police chases should be outlawed.
Why? Is it because innocent people are gravely injured or killed during high speed chases?

If the above is the reason for outlawing high speed chases, than the alleged criminal should be charged with attempted murder of Jane Q Public when fleeing and alluding. With no plea bargain.

I have spent considerable time studying high speed chases and my conclusions are in the minority, that allowing criminals to flee without risk, causes more casualties and fatalities, and cost to society in the long term.
