I’ve had a few bottles of 10w50 Spectro Platinum 4 10w50 in the stash from a sale at a local MC shop. I haven’t ran it in my 790 yet as I’ve been using Amsoil 15w50.

I emailed Spectro for specs which I’ll attach. In the process I found out Motorex bought out spectro last year.

Take a look at the PDS data for the 10w50 and 15w50. Very similar. What stood out to me is the VI for the 10w50 is only 136? Seems low for a 10w50.. is it possible being all PAO as they claim it has less VII than some other 10w50s? 🤔

I may send off a VOA on the oil to see how the add pack looks. Spectro didn’t want to email me much data..getting the PDS was harder than it should be imo.

The viscosity index for 2 oils that have the same viscosities at 100°F and 212°F, is identical. It's a calculation based on those 2 data points.

So the data sheet they gave you is garbage.

I called and they gave me the following.

16.84 @ 100C
121.56 @ 40C
VI 151

Supposed to email me HTHS, Etc.

It’s nice I was only transferred once to get ahold of some data.

Im guessing Spectro is a small operation.
