I just changed the plugs and spark plug tube seals on my 2000 Sebring convertible. What a Pain! What a poor engine design.

4 tubes has alot of oil in them. You have to take the intake manifold off to change the rear plugs. It was like a 5 hour job.

Chrysler......are you trying to kill the shade tree mechanic?

At least I got to see the top of the motor good. Alot of varnish but no sludge deposits with 97,000 miles on it.

Isn't the 2.5 a four cylinder engine? What rear plugs are you talking about?

When you say you replaced the tube seals, are you saying that you took the valve cover off and replaced the o-rings around the spark plug holes?

I'm confused.

the 2.5 is a V6 and the 2.4 is the I4.

It is a 6 cylinder. The back plugs are under the intake plenum which must be removed. Yes, I had to remove the valve covers to do the seals. A couple of the spark plugs tubes didn't have oil in them. The other 4 did.

As with most designs the Engineers are lacking common sense. The stuff as designed is what I call screw the customer design.
