I have a craftsman lawnmower model # 917.376536. My spark plug is a champion part number rj19hx plug number 973. Can replace this spark plug with a bosch spark plug. If I can replace it can anyone tell me what part # or plug # for a bosch spark plug that will work with my lawnmower. I really like bosch very reliable and strong, hope someone finds something.

Thank you very much

No need for a bosch plug in your mower , keep the champion in there. They work fine and are easy to find replacement plugs.

I am not a fan of Champion, but in my OPE, I have never really had a spark plug problem, as there are always fuel related things to go wrong. I do however change the plugs, but thats just to give me the warm fuzzies.

nah! I wouldn't bother buying fancy plugs for B&S mowers. Just use default Champion RJ19 series (cheep, less than 2 bux @ walymart) and be over with it. If you want to go fancy, get the EZstart version.

Anything beyond copper resistor plugs on those lowly flathead mower engine is a waste, IMHO.

Torch is my favorite brand. They'll last three mowings with very few missfires and unburned fuel burping out of the exhaust. Actually, after much scientific research and years of experience with small engines, I buy NGK or Champion whichever are on sale. Most of my customers are repeat business and they get a new plug every year though plugs easily last several years without much exception.

At my shop those only work reasonably well for a while on Chondas
