Spam and unsolicited calls

They’ve been spoofing Clearview Cancer Institute and the VA Medical Center here. ☹️
The carrier let's them get away with it. It's easy for them to see who is making a million calls an hour. Then they turn around and charge us more money to keep it from happening. This is why I'm against mega corps. You can't walk into their office and hold the owner accountable like you can with a small business.

It has zero effect on number spoofers. They have your number and they spoof legitimate numbers to try to get you to answer.
That, or in my case, I can block the first number that calls, say 555-1212, and the next time the same place calls and the number comes up as 555-1213. That's a lot of numbers to block.

The part that really irritates me is that they leave messages, which I then have to go through to verify if they are legit or not.

It’s obnoxious for sure. They do the same nonsense with me. My phone will attempt to transcribe my VMs so I can delete them at a glance when they are talking about a loan or warranty, 😂

iPhone has new blocking features, they work and you can also block by area code but that isnt as easy.
Android makes blocking by area code even easier.

MY wife and I have noticed a significant reduction in spam texts and calls.

Yep, I've noticed this trend.

Spammers have switched to spoofing medical entities to increase conversion rates.

Spoofing only works for 2 seconds because when you pick up the call it's some indian guy trying his best version of an American accent claiming his name is Kevin.

If I get caught answering these I like to humor the guys a bit, have them rage hang-up is fun.

They are really bad here. 25-30 per day sometimes. I have seriously thought of giving up phones completely. Nothing works. I bought a call blocker and after using it to block 250 numbers I gave it up. Nothing seems to work. My numbers are on the do not call registry. I have reported them to the Secretary of State office. No results.
Sadly, the Do Not Call list seems wholly ineffective.
