Source for a ZF 5 speed ('87-'91) parking brake?

Bad news, I think I killed my F-450's parking brake assembly (mounts on the back of the ZF 5 speed like a transfer case)-anybody gotten a rebuilt one, had any luck? Or, (GULP, big $$$), a source on a NEW one? Didn't know they had FOUR OUNCES of ATF in them, must have leaked out?

Well, I did find a guy that sells new ones on Ebay for $825 +shipping (!), biting the bullet & buying one from him. A very expensive lesson on a pretty shaky (IMHO) design!

Looks like you got a good deal. If I looked it up right, the lsitings for those years are terrible at best, you were looking at $1968.97 for a complete assembly from Ford.

Another example of where the manufacturer can charge anything they want if the aftermarket source is scarce. They all do it.
