It is Warren here so likely it is Warren in Vegas.

Post a pic of the bottle. I'm only a hour north of you on 15. And we have the new Citgo bottles at our 3 walmarts that replaced the Warren one.

Not every oil co. packages their own product. Warren does, but depending on location, other companies may use a local plastics packaging facility.

Either way, I did have a couple of old SL ST quarts back when SOPUS did make it. Over here, ST is currently either Warren or XOM.

This was discussed in another thread...

WPP represents the maker of the bottle. Warren Petroleum just makes the bottle.

WNE represents another maker of the bottle.

G represents another maker of the bottle.

My Walmart only had WPP for the big jugs and WNE for the little jugs. Or vise-versa.... can't remember.

WPP makes the bottle and the oil. Here's the PDS from Warren for the Supertech HM oil:

strongt - Thanks for the information on the Supertech HM. Can you one tell if it is synthetic blend ? At least now I know it is not private label QS Defy .

I like that they put specific additives on the TDS. You don't have to run a VOA to know that there's 980 ppm of zinc, 770 ppm of phosphorous, 2500 ppm of calcium, 80 ppm of moly, 180 ppm of boron, and 2980 ppm of sulfur.

Not a bad-looking additive package really.

WPP = WNE = Maker of the bottle and the oil.

WPP stands for Warren Performance Packaging not Warren Petroleum products. Warren does make their own oil and bottles but also sells bottles to other oil distributors. So just because the bottle has WPP on the bottom does not guarantee the oil inside is made by Warren. I can't believe we are still talking about this on BITOG.

WPP stands for Warren Performance Products. They make their own bottles and they are a oil blender. Makers of Mag 1 oil too.

Here's their website : Warren Proformance Products

As for the ST HM oil if it's a blend ? It is not. That's the answer I got from WPP when they sent me the PDS.

Straight from their website.

"Our Council Bluffs manufacturing facility, Warren Performance Packaging, includes more than 255,000 square feet on 7 acres along the Missouri River, just north of Interstate 80. At that plant, Warren blends lubricating oils and chemicals for automotive applications and makes plastic bottles. Packaging operations include the manufacture of plastic bottles (from 8 fluid ounces to 2.5 gallon) and the filling of such with lubricants and chemicals, as well as packaging in 5-gallon pails, drums, totes, and bulk transport loading. Much of the product made at the plant is packaged for private label marketers but a significant portion is packaged under Warren's house brands including MAG 1 and Polar.

Straight from their website:

"Welcome to Warren Performance Products, manufacturer of World Class automotive chemicals, lubricants and winter products."
Their main internationalpage: WPP

Their blending, packaging are all under Warren Performance Products WPP

As for the OP's question, WPP shaped Supertech bottles "ones that are the same shape as MAG 1 oil will be a WPP product. One's that look like a Mobil products are bottle by Mobil. And ones that are in bottles shaped like Sopus(Shell) products it will be a bottle by Sopus. It's really not that hard to see who makes what.

And that's why if I wanted Warren oil, I buy Mag1. I don't think the ST in my Walmart is Warren anymore. The bottle looks different from before and it's stamped G underneath. I like to buy oil that I can see the PDS.
